Casa IOS and Android Mobile Wallet App Available for Download

Casa announced that their mobile wallet app called Sats App. The app is now available for download on Android and IOS devices. However, if users do not have a Casa node they will not be able to use Lightning Network features at all. Moreover, Sats App has a fully self-contained Bitcoin key and users will be able to send/receive BTC on-chain.

Sats App has a feature called SatsTag. Users will be able to easily send/receive on-chain or off-chain with the help of SatsTag. This makes it easy for anyone to send Bitcoin just like they would use Cash App or Venmo.

When someone sends BTC to a user’s SatsTag, a new address will be derived from the public key and will be provided to the sender. The BTC goes directly to the key and does not pass through Casa in any way.

Casa also claims that the wallet app is completely non-custodial and the users have full control over their private keys. Private keys are saved on the phone’s secure enclave and will be backed up using Casa’s existing secure backup method.
