Bank of New York Mellon has been appointed to be the transfer agent and administrator of Bitwise Asset Management’s proposed Bitcoin (BTC) ETF.
Cointelegraph has recently reported. On Sept. 11, Bitwise amended the S-1 form that they have submitted to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Moreover, the document includes Cohen & Company(major accounting firm) as an auditor and Boston-based legal firm Foreside Fund Services is listed as the Bitcoin ETF’s marketing agent.
January this year Bitwise proposed a rule of change to the Securities Act of 1933 to list its Bitcoin ETF on NYSE Arca. Since the filing, the ETF has experienced a tortuous series of delays from regulators. Regulators are uncertain about the price manipulation in cryptocurrency markets, as per the report. Furthermore, SEC once again delayed their decision on the Bitwise ETF to Oct. 13.
